I worked as a teacher in Syria for many years. I heard about The Mobile Educator from my contact person at Vluchtelingenwerk. And directly I knew it was my chance to start.
After this training I got a chance of an internship at one of the primary schools in the village where I live. My internship is for 6 months. It was possible for me to choose the classes which I want, so I chose class 7 and class 8 because they are the classes which I can give lessons of grammar, and there is my passion.
I began at 1 November 2016 with my first lesson: I just sat and listened to the teacher of the class. The next day, the teacher of the class asked me to share in the teaching. The third day, I just gave the whole lesson. It was a great feeling that I am a teacher again. So, every week for one day I am an English teacher.
After a period of time they did an evaluation of my work and they found my job very good. Not only this; I got several thanks messages from some parents, and that is something I am so proud of.
I learned also a lot like: team work, using the digital system for giving the lessons and the most important was the learning about the interaction between the students and the teacher.
I hope now that I can complete my dream and work here as a teacher, not only trainee; my first step was perfect with the Mobile Educator.
